Monk

Monk was the show that launched USA Netowork into a new era, kicking the Charachters Welcome brand into gear with Tony Shalhoub playing the "defective detective". This particular show was a perfect test case for the audience-friendly brand. From the first iterations, we were able to give a serious eye to minimal design and a affible color palette, which allowed they viewer to concentrate on the most important part: the character.

For the most part, the execution was simple. We let the person who knew the charater best guide a lot of the action; Tony Shalhoub. Sure, we had ideas for him, but the best takes were always when we let the camera run and told Tony to "Just be Monk..."
